This is the most difficult part of making a website: Composing the words for "About Me" section.

So this what I have to say and have said a hundred times when writing about myself already:

I am an Asian female, in my 30s, trying to integrate myself in the city of Vienna, Austria. I am the wife and lover to R, a mother to a wonderful boy named Boo the Rascal, and a friend to a few people. I love dark red and dark blue, don't mind the trivialities of life, dabble in calligraphy, collect throwpillows, like to write and dream that one day I will have my own castle fronting a beach somewhere in Southeast Asia.

For the moment I adore Lucretia Borgia, Arthur Schnitzler, Artemisia Gentileschi and the French band Phoenix.

I started to become interested in creating websites in 1999 when Nerve.com offered free webpages and email accounts to its members. After its demise, blogging and online journalling became the norm. I finally acquired one through Diaryland. I think my old online diary still exists somewhere. Then I moved on to Pitas. I tried several blogging sites till 2003 when I decided to have my own website.

I abandoned serpentskirt.com when I realised I couldn't save the domain name in time. I am satisfied with my current host, a Filipino company.

About the name rot or write. I told myself if I would publish a book, I'd whip a title like rot or write. A variation is also rot & write. It depends on my mood really. It basically means just that, rot or write.

For all the niceties and everything here: The "new and improved" rot or write was born while I listened to the following artists--Serge Gainsbourg, t.A.T.u., Luna, Sigur Ros, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Power, Tori Amos, INXS, Patti Smith, Slut, Falco, Moloko, PJ Harvey, The Smiths,Sandrubies, Afghan Whigs, Adina Howard, Starsailor, Maximilian Hecker and David Bowie and other musicians that inspired me and continue to inspire me.

Writing is like breathing. If I stop writing then I cease to exist. As to mass media is my platform.

Everything's mine except otherwise noted. (The main picture is the Italian coast photographed by R's father around the late '70s, messed up by yours truly. A couple of pictures are from the MorgueFile.)

All writings are compiled for the last 10 years and counting, and are copyrighted to me except the outside sources that are acknowledged and/or cited.
